Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Born in Compton, CA  and raised in both Long Beach and Los Angeles, I am a working woman and entrepreneur.  What started out as just a hobby to calm my anxiety paved the way for A Simple Bijou.   A Simple Bijou has been the name of my social media accounts for many years and I felt it was befitting of my business and all that I wanted it to represent.

I mean who doesn’t love the fragrant aroma of candles to set the mood and add a scented aura?  The COVID-19 pandemic set into motion the Year of Yes for me.  After finding candle making to be therapeutic, and let’s be real, it kept me sane during quarantine, I decided to take the plunge and begin my own candle line.  I started with making candles as gifts for family and friends and decided to expand my reach.  There is nothing better than sharing my passion and hopefully adding a bit of beauty, ambiance and self-care to your life.

A Simple Bijou seeks to capture the most captivating scents to present to you as jewels.  Our candles will be amongst your most prized and beautiful possessions that add a touch of elegance to your space.

Candles are just the beginning.  Making my home a place of peace is important so A Simple Bijou plans to continue bringing you scented jewels but will also be adding other home accents to give you that perfect ambiance.  I’m also venturing into wholesale so if you’d like to wholesale our candles or create your own line, just let me know.

I currently reside in the LBC but you can find me at home, curled up watching The Wire.  There is also the scent of candle filling the room and while the glow of a candle flame helps me center my mind after a full day of mommying and work.  That’s my happy place.  I hope it will be yours too.
